禅宗大師青原行思有言：參禪之初，看山是山，看水是水；禪有悟時，看山不是山，看水不是水；禪中徹悟，看山还是山，看水还是水。只是看在眼裏的山水，已有另一層內涵... Qingyuan Xingsi, Zen Buddhist monk of the Tang dynasty, is quoted describing Zen as follows: When I first began the study of Zen, mountains were mountains and waters were waters. By the time I achieved some insight of the truth of Zen, mountains were no longer mountains and waters no longer waters. But once I have become fully enlightened, I am at rest, and mountains are once again nothing but mountains and waters nothing but waters. But by then, he has had an enlightened understanding of the mountains and waters that he sees. 俗世裏，人生如此。音樂裏，琴亦如此。 Human life is like that;Guqin music is like that as well. 千禧年的一天，我在電影裏第一次聽到了古琴的聲音。 On the first day of the millenium, I was truly enlightened by the beauty of guqin music for the first time from a movie. 大學畢業後，我當過攝影師，拍過院線電影，做過大學老師，最終還是無法抗拒古琴的魅力，辭掉工作來到上海，繼續跟龔一先生學琴，結識了眾多同樣喜愛古琴的朋友和跨界音樂人。到這張專輯發行之日，我彈琴已經十五年了。 Upon graduation from university, I worked as a film director for a while, having shot several films, taught at a university, but finally turned in my resignation to the university and came to Shanghai due to the irresistible appeal of guqin music and picked up guqin again, after Master Gong Yi, hence getting to know a group of friends who have the same love of guqin and musicians of different genres. By the time this CD is published, I will have been practicing guqin for fifteen years. 在古琴的世界裏，我似乎在不斷地打開一扇一扇的門。那場千禧年的電影是新世界的大門，我一個人摸進來，很快就觸到了墻壁；幸運地，龔一先生幫我開了第二道門，我看見一片生機盎然的庭院；仔細探索之後，在角落里又出現了新的門，原來這里是一個熱鬧的大廣場，世界真大啊！ It seems I have been constantly opening new doors in the guqin music world. That movie I saw on the first day of the millennium is the door to a brand new world. I stumbled into this world unguided and soon ran into a wall. Fortunately, Master Gong Yi opened a new door for me, ushering me into a lovely garden full of life and potentials. After some exploration, I saw another door in the corner. Going through that door, I discovered an exciting square, exclaiming to myself how big this world is! 我大概要在這裏摸索很久了，不知哪裏又會冒出新的門來，也不知道門背後是怎樣的無垠宇宙。我也會時常回小庭院看看，那裏的景色雖然沒有變，只是每次回去，那景色都有另一種感覺在了。 Perhaps I will be exploring for a long time in this world. Who knows whether and where I will discover another new door and what a boundless new universe I will discover on the other side of the door. I may wander back to the small old garden on and off. The scenery there may not change every time I go back, but the old scenery will trigger a new revelation. 這張專輯是我習琴至今的一個小結，四支曲子記錄了我古琴的成長的四個階段。當唱針劃過一圈圈的溝壑，古琴的聲音穿透緩緩旋轉的唱片，有一種難以形容的契合感和臨場感，如同真人在面前演奏一般。不知是琴聲給了唱針溫度，還是音軌給了琴聲生命？願妳有答案。 This album may serve as a summary of my experience with guqin, each of the four music pieces represents one of the four stages of my growth in practicing guqin. The guqin music sound from the vinyl album is very becoming and gives one an indescribable sense of immediacy, as if one is there on the scene as the music is being played. Is it because guqin music has injected a warmth into the needle or the track has instilled life into the music? I don’t know. Do you?
